Vern Cantwell Jr. [1950-2009], a kind gentle friend, touched every heart and soul that has known his presence passed from this life on April 15th, 2009 at the age of 58.

History: What began on April 11, 2009 as a No Frill’s 5k evolved into a what is known today as Vern’s No Frill’s 5k
Location: Berry Springs Park – Georgetown, Texas
Benefit: Proceeds go to fund projects within the park which is managed by Willimason County Parks Dept.

In 2009, the Georgetown Running Club along with over 1000’s other runners who took part in the races throughout the year,  raised over $1000 which was donated back to Berry Springs Park and was used towards restocking the pond and planting wildflowers.
